Producers Getting Coffee and Donuts Now Available on all Major Streaming Platforms
Producers Getting Coffee and Donuts is not just another beat tape. It is Pheem’s personal journey into a unique soundscape inspired by the legendary J. Dilla. The DMV producer uses the format of Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee as a vehicle to (re)introduce the listener to the late, great Donuts creator. While each track assaults the listener’s senses with knocking percussion and dense samples, insightful commentary from a group of Hip Hop producers sure to be on any “golden era” fan’s top ten list is blended in with care for an immersive experience. From Pete Rock to Madlib and everyone in between, each titan of production provides testimonials reminding us all why Dilla inspired a generation of producers and beat makers.
2019 Beat Konductaz Battle @ The Hip Hop Museum Grand Closing Gala
Incredible night at the @culturehousedc . For those that missed it, @djbloom_lv and the @hiphopmuseumdc hosted an AMAZING event for their grand closing gala this past Saturday. Those in attendance watched @TheBeatnuts @officialbizmarkie @canibusverified @busybeedaoriginalbb @thesupernon and others get inducted into the hip hop hall of fame and heard these hip hop legends speak on their appreciation for and roles in Hip Hop History.
And then there was the @beatkonductazBeat Battle. Hosted by @eddiekayne and judged by @james_dewitt_yancey_foundation and @shawnjperiodmusic it was a battle indeed. 16 dope Producers competed and I advanced to the final four where @s3oulc1ty_ ended up edging me out in a close one for the books (No BS doh judges could not decide and had to let the crowd call it). All in all it was a memorable night and I am truly humbled to have shared a room with so many living legends and been a part of this historic event 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
P.S. Huge s/o to my day ones who always support and @flamesemojibeatz for connecting me with the homie @djohlow .
Dope to get featured on The Word Is Bond's top 10 instrumental series. Teckzilla writes:
"Pheem shows us just how he gets down behind the boards on his new track “Back Stabbers (Old DAT’s)”. He has a knack for layering samples and use of smooth neck snapping drums to match.
“Back Stabbers (Old DAT’s)” is taken from his new beat tape ‘Producers Getting Coffee and Donuts Season 1: A J Dilla Tribute Beat Tape’. The project is a homage to the late great J Dilla."
